Platelet rich fibrin injections
As part of the treatments available at Wellbeing Skin we are excited to offer platelet rich fibrin (PRF) injections, a natural way to boost your skin's quality and elasticity.

Your body has the ability to repair itself after injury through the release of growth factors which are found in, and released from, white bloods cells (platelets, leukocytes, cytokines and adhesive proteins including fibrinogen). These growth factors promote healing through increasing blood flow, increasing lymphatic drainage and encouraging the upregulation of collagen and elastin production. 

PRF has now been incorporated into multiple medical fields to promote healing, including the cosmetic industry. Through drawing a patient’s blood, much like when you have a blood test, we can then process it in clinic using a centrifuge to separate the growth factor containing white cells and fibrin matrix. The PRF can then be injected into the desired area, such as the under-eye area, perioral areas or scalp for hair rejuvenation. Treatment regimens usually consist of monthly treatments for three months, followed by maintenance therapy every 6-12 months.
